Hi, Eric from over at the Finish Carpentry forum. Had a question on how to install grab bar for client through tile shower wall when stud finder . Ideally you would want to install the grab bars onto wood studs, whether there is tile or not. However, most grab bars are not sized to precisely span the standard . Oct 20- I want to install a grab bar to help prevent this from happening again.
If the tile doesn't go all the way to the ceiling, a stud finder (about $20) will help.
